Steyr CVT 6200 series rearing to go

Steyr continuously variable technology exceeds 200 hp.
The new Steyr CVT 6200 is characterised by highest productivity and efficiency,
numerous innovations plus versatility, comfort and a high level of reliability

The continuously variable transmission technology of the Steyr CVT range has been convincing the international tractor market for more than 10 years now. With the new CVT 6200 series, Steyr now conquers the power segment above 200 hp at the same time as offering myriad new features and further innovations regarding the engine, transmission technology, comfort and safety.

Three models will enter the market in early 2009; the CVT 6200 with 197 hp (145 kW), the CVT 6210 with 213 PS (157 kW) and the CVT 6225 with 224 hp (165 kW) - and the Power Plus power management system activating up to 37 hp more on demand.

Highest productivity and economy, versatility, simple operation, comfort and reliability in everyday operation - convincing arguments that underline the benefits of the new CVT 6200 series.

Straightforward and intuitive operation
All controls and the latest generation Steyr Multicontroller are integrated into the ergonomic, adjustable armrest. The tractor status and performance data are clearly displayed on the instrument panel in the A-post.
With the Multicontroller all key functions can be controlled with a single hand: driving strategy, forward/reverse, engine speed, Easy Tronic headland management, electronically-controlled remote hydraulic valves and front and rear hitch functions.

The optional AFS 300 Pro (touch-screen) monitor that can also be integrated into the armrest, or the separately-installed AFS 600 Pro monitor, provides perfect control over the tractors functions, ISOBUS-compatible implements, Autopilot S-Guide and an overview of the current status of the tractor in relation to wheel slip, area covered, inspection intervals, etc.
Any maintenance requirements are also displayed here in good time.

Easy operation
The Intuitive Control Panel (ICP) is a completely new feature. This is a visual representation of the tractor with all the controls laid out in the correct position.
Drivers can see at a glance what they are doing, making it easier to operate the tractor. The proven S-Tronic engine management system also contributes to operational comfort.

Even more productivity and economy
The new 6.7 litre six cylinder common rail turbo diesel engines in the Steyr CVT feature especially low exhaust emissions and are economical at the same time as delivering more power. A large intercooler ensures particularly low fuel consumption while higher engine performance improves the power to weight ratio even further.

The major advantage of these engines, however, is the Power Plus engine management system. This additional source of power delivers the same productivity even in the most demanding operating conditions by increasing engine performance by up to 35 percent.

With Power Plus these engines achieve their maximum torque at 1,400 rpm, or 1,600 rpm with the PTO. Maximum engine power is output at between 1,800 and 2,000 rpm.

In Constant Engine Speed mode the engine and PTO speed are maintained independently of fluctuations in load. In Constant Power mode the engine delivers the same performance at 1,600 rpm as at rated nominal engine speed. Both of these modes are designed to guarantee lower fuel consumption and optimum productivity.

Always in the optimum range
The proven S-Tronic engine/transmission management system recognises driving strategy and controls the engine and transmission ratios to comply with the most economic criteria. This system selects the most efficient engine speed for field work and road transport, for example, or optimises productivity with a constant speed for PTO work.
Test results prove that the Steyr CVT achieves fuel consumption six percent lower that the average competitor.

And, with service intervals of 600 hours, the new Steyr CVT is fields ahead of the competition and saves the farmer time and money.

Over 10 years experience with continuously variable transmissions
The transmission and PTO on the new Steyr CVT 6200 reflect the many years of experience and competence of the engineers in St. Valentin. Four forward and two reverse transmission groups ensure

optimum efficiency. Driving away from a standstill, changing direction or manoeuvring around the farmyard is done completely smoothly without using the clutch.

New double-clutch technology
The smoothness is delivered by the latest Doppel-Kupplungs-Technologie (DKT), which is already used by the German automotive industry and features rapid switching and minimal power losses.
A driving speed of 50 kph can be achieved at an engine speed of just 1,550 rpm, which not only reduces fuel consumption but also reduces the noise level inside the cab. The active stop control prevents the tractor from rolling away on slopes without having to use the brakes.

With the automatic soft-start PTO control the torque is gradually increased to protect the driveline shafts on the machinery.

Comfort for a long day at work
The Surround Vision cab on the CVT 6200 has windows that curve outwards to provide a huge amount of space and light, giving the driver excellent all-round visibility. A roof window is also available to extend the field of vision upwards.
The extremely low noise level of 69 dB(A) is quieter than in many cars. At a noise level 3 db(A) higher, competitors tractors are twice as loud inside the cab as with the CVT.

All controls, including the Multicontroller, are integrated ergonomically into the armrest and the monitors in the A-post are easy to read. Climate control is standard, with an automatic system also available, plus a comfortable drivers seat that is fully adjustable with lumbar support and a steering wheel that can be adjusted in height and angle for a fatigue-free working environment. Moreover, the active front axle suspension and cab suspension add to driving comfort and improve traction.

Likewise, the Turn Assist steering control system makes things easier for the operator who just needs to slightly rotate the steering wheel to turn the front wheels from lock to lock automatically.

Increased driving safety is available with electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors and up to ten additional floodlights for working at night time.

AFS monitor for precision farming
Of course the new Steyr CVTs provide all the prerequisites for working with Advanced Farming Systems (AFS). Choose between the AFS 300 touch-screen monitor integrated into the end of the right-hand armrest, or the slightly larger AFS 600 with colour display mounted as a separate terminal on the right side of the cab.

Since the entire electronics system of the CVT 6200 is ISOBUS-compatible, all the functions of ISOBUS machines can also be viewed in addition to displaying the performance data of the tractor.

When using the S-Guide steering and autopilot system, all the functions can be managed using this terminal to make each pass even more precise.
