The STEYR 9080 Multi-Trac is available as a rear wheel
drive or 4WD version. Otherwise, all models in the 9000 M range are 4WD.
With the convenient 4WD and Diff Lock controls the high engine output
is efficiently transferred to the ground and converted into superb pulling

the STEYR 9000 M models offer ideal adaptation to individual needs. All
requirements from max. soil protection to maximum pulling power (multi-pass-effect)

direct drive
Automatic 4WD and Diff Lock This highly efficient 4WD technology offers
many advantages:
- direct uninterrupted power train (no joints) to the front axle differential
ensures 100% power transfer with no loss of efficiency.
- elevated position of the drive shaft permits maximum ground clearance
(50 cm).
4-WD
and Diff-lock controls for protecting soil and maximum traction
On the STEYR 9000 Multi-Trac models both 4WD and front and rear differentials
can be electro-hydraulically engaged and deactivated while under load.
The standard specification driven axle features a differential with automatic
disc locking.
A steering axle with electro-hydraulic 100% differential locking is also
available, as is separate engagement for front and rear locking, and a
wet multi-disc brake integrated with EFH into the front axle.

Safety and comfort of the STEYR 9000 Multi-Trac-range model are created
by smooth and precise steering movements and oil-immersed, multi-disc
powerassisted brakes which are extremely effective even with minimum pedal
operation. Whether in restricted areas or on very difficult terrain, the
STEYR 9000 M tractor will meet any challenge with safety and precision.
Effortless
steering
The hydraulic oil circuit supplies oil to the power-assisted steering
system via a Load sensing valve. This guarantees full steering assistance
in every speed range. The height and tilt-adjustable steering wheel allows
the driver to find the most comfortable position, thus eliminating fatigue.
Hydraulic
brake for greater comfort
The large braking surfaces are fitted with environmentally friendly, asbestos-free
brake linings. Service and parking brakes are operated independently.
The oil-immersed multi-disc brake in the rear axle retards and stops the
tractor safely with only minimum pressure on the pedal.
Emergency
and parking brake
This brake acts mechanically on the solid disc brake of the rear axle,
and is operated independently.
Greater
safety through 4-WD braking – STEYR Opti-Stop
Safety is considerably increased by the automatic 4-WD engagement whereby
the braking effect is transferred to all four wheels. The mechanical connection
between rear and front axles prevents brake lock-up, regardless of axle
loading.
Exhaust
brake available for extra stopping power
An exhaust brake can be supplied to provide extra stopping assistance
for really heavy haulage work. This can be a particular advantage in adding
safety to road transport operations in hilly areas if two fully-loaded
trailers are in tow.
Front
drive shaft brake for special applications
If required, the STEYR 9000 Multi-Trac models can also be fitted
with a front drive shaft brake. This is an internal hydraulically operated,
wet multi-disc brake with very high braking efficiency and easily controlled
braking intensity.
Safe
trailer operation
A low-pressure air-braking system with 1 and 2-line braking and a
defrosting pump, or a hydraulic trailer brake* can be supplied on request.
